About us

The Clifton Moor Business Association (known as CMBA) was formed in May 2003 to promote and encourage mutual business between companies in the YO1 area of York. We are a non-profit organisation, and all subscriptions received are used for the benefit of the members. Over the years, this has evolved and broadened into a united voice on matters affecting the Clifton Moor business estate and surrounding area such as:

  • Planning issues
  • Access to and from the estate via road and potentially by rail
  • Traffic Issues affecting all businesses such as buses and car parking
  • Working with various departments of York Council on various matters as they arise

The CMBA is run by a board of directors who are long-standing members of the association and who give their time voluntarily. The directors are:

  • Elizabeth Lebeter (Chairperson)
  • Adrian McClaren
  • Andy Douse
  • Carin Burchell

The board is assisted by:

  • Amy Lighton
  • Sarah Cantrill
  • Will Procter

All administration is carried out via e-mail info@cmbayork.com. If there are any issues you would like to discuss, or would like the board to look into, please use the ‘Contact page to get in touch.

Newsletter

The CMBA produces a newsletter twice a year, usually in May and November, where members are able to submit articles and have their sponsorship showcased. These newsletters are displayed on the website, on social media and in printed form to promote the Clifton Moor business community.

Events

The board organises monthly events and speakers for the benefit of its members, their staff and other invited guests to attend.

These events are an opportunity to catch up over a cup of tea or coffee and a bacon or veggie butty, and informally networking with fellow members. It is a friendly get-together where a great deal of experience and mutual support is available.

Social Media

As an organisation, the CMBA is developing a social media presence, initially on LinkedIn and Twitter.
